The Osceola County Property Appraiser is responsible for the continued appraisal of property. New properties, single homes, as well as up to10 unit multi family apartments buildings and condominiums and town home developments and mobile homes as well as vacant residential lands. The Osceola County property appraisers office is also responsible for an annual reassessment according to State law on January 1st of each year. All property is given an assessment according to it's current property market value in accordance with economic conditions. Every five years The Osceola County property appraiser can do an on site property inspection appraisal to ensure the property is accurately appraised at the current market value. On site appraisals will also be done if the property has had demolition done to any of it's structures or if any new structure has been added to the property. Property owners can also request an appraisal for their land or property that he or she owns if they want to or so they can know the value for selling their property.
Every effort is made to ensure that all property values are accurate. It is the property owner's responsibility to check the property record's data each year to ensure it is accurate and up to date. Every August a proposed assessment notice (TRIM) is mailed out to every property owner. If you do not believe your property would sell for the new appraisal amount stated on the card, you must contact the Osceola County Property Appraisers Office and request a review. If after the review process you still feel the property won't sale for the appraisal amount, you will have to go through the appeals process where you will be given a chance to prove the correct value of your property. |
